Backyard Birding in Northern Arizona

Northern Arizona is a goldmine for backyard birders.  It is home to many colorful, unique species that readily come to gardens, bird feeders, and bird baths.  MAS member Margaret Dyekman, author of Backyard Birding in Northern Arizona, will briefly discuss the process of getting her book published and then share some of the real-life stories that were the basis for her 10 years of newspaper articles that eventually were incorporated into her book that targets the everyday, casual bird-lover.

Margaret Dyekman has watched birds in Northern Arizona from her backyard for 20 years, and documented her experiences and those of other backyard birders in entertaining and informative print articles and blogs. She is an accomplished writer and speaker, published in professional magazines, and a frequent conference presenter in the human relations field.  She is a member of the Northern Arizona Audubon Society, the Maricopa Audubon Society, Arizona Field Ornithologists, the Central Arizona Butterfly Association, Arizona Country Club, Pinewood Country Club, the North American Butterfly Association, and the American Birding Association. Her book will be on sale to MAS members at a discounted price of $20 including tax. www.backyardbirdingaz.com
